There are a few books and movies that circle around women, having strong female characters that aren’t dolled up to appear lifeless. But they tend to emerge as a strong figure, someone who we can relate to. Most books and films lack strong female presence. They get a little space to thrive.
Are either produced to objectify women or to seek sympathy from the protagonist- the damsel in distress image, being the most common. However, not all writers have done injustice to women. One such prolific, Swedish writer and journalist named Steig Larsson, has blessed the readers with his finest work called- The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

The Girl with the dragon tattoo is a psychological thriller novel, which is a part of the Millennium series. The book was published posthumously in 2005 and became an international bestseller. Larsson planned to release 10 novels in his Millennium series. Unfortunately, due to his sudden demise, only three were published and made available to the readers.
The book managed to make a stellar appearance in the world of literature. It bagged many awards, which later drew the attention of the filmmakers to make a movie out of it.
